Phwoar really began to coalesce around 2020, when Helena and Paul decided that they had lots of things to say but no way to say them. Adopting a light-hearted approach akin to their personalities, they started writing about mental health, with Take Cover, substance abuse with Jagged Line, and environmental protection with Break Away.

Phwoar, formerly known as First Frontier, brings a dose of kitsch, light-hearted geekiness, both endearing and distinctive. The two-piece bang out catchy garage rock tunes with hints of pop and indie, while their music videos explore are different, to say the least.
