I started out playing rhythm guitar and writing songs for a new wave band called the Fade back in 79. Then formed a band called Jim's Got Style with a fabulous guitarist called Phil Carter and enjoyed being a part of the infamous, JBs Club scene of the time. After this I fronted Roadhouse, a bit of a super group with a Doorsesque vibe that included Paul Sharp from Head of David and the fabulous Jim Cowdell on keyboards. We toured extensively and had a bit too much fun! I now front a lively covers band, the Strolling Tones and enjoy doing acoustic shows to raise money for SHELTER.

Chris Phillips is a very experienced singer and guitarist. Serving time in various bands ranging from psychedelic rock; alt country and more recently alt country tinged solo Acoustic shows. Chris also fronts a rocking covers band named the Strolling Tones....who unfortunately cannot make this show. Chris's solo set mixes classic and diverse songs ranging from Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, the Band, Tom Waits , Soul Asylum and many more ....depending on the occasion and mood of the day. Vocally Chris nails the power of rock with the raw emotion of country soul. A few stories and a generous mix of humour and paths make for a great experience.

Very experienced vocalist/front man and solo Acoustic performer. My style is a mix between earrly Van Morrison and Jackson Browne with a ting of Tom Waits for good measure. Story songs and feel good foot tappers are my thing.
