Hi! I’m Kaitlyn Elverson. I’m a Singer-songwriter currently based in Shropshire. Throughout my life, I’ve lived in many places; growing up in Leicester, moving down to Cornwall, back up to Malvern and recently settling in Ludlow. One thing that followed me everywhere I went was my love for a good story and passion for history, heritage, folk and lore. Along my journey, I’ve picked up many stories and converted them into songs. Some of them are my own to share, taking from my own life experiences, some songs of the land, plants and trees, and some of people and places I only ever meet in my dreams. Tales of love, loss, battle and bravery, but always leaving interpretation up to the listener and creating an air of mystery…oooo! Music stole my heart from the moment I realised it was a thing. As a child, when I wasn’t singing, I was playing dress up, saving princesses on my Nintendo, falling in love with the adventures of Alice in Wonderland, and eventually, learning how to play guitar. I’m glad to share that my childlike wonder has never left me, and plays a huge part in my writing today. My musical style and inspirations are ever evolving, but my current interests are British folklore of flora and fauna, medieval history, fantasy, including mermaids and pirates, good and evil, light and dark and Dungeons and Dragons. My roots will forever be country, but I enjoy exploring other genres, namely folk, rock and a bit of Americana jazz and blues. My debut album, Fables, is an exploration of all of it, featuring some of my favourite songs to date.
