Picking up a resophonic guitar changed my life , giving me the musical voice I’d sought for some forty years. It got me performing, and as importantly, writing again. As a result, I’ve played in Bars, Pubs and Festivals, and even the occasional theatre. My songwriting is shaped by MY life experiences and everything I sing about is true, apart from the stuff I make up. My musical influences are diverse, taking in performers like Ry Cooder, Leo Kottke, Charlie Parr and Martin Harley. The songwriters I admire most are the likes of Richard Thompson, Steve Earl, Tom Waits and, of course, Nick Lowe. Any covers that I do are arranged to suit the way I play and the instrument I play on. I’ve been told I don’t really sound like anybody else. Happy with that!
