English Jones Biog   The Midlands based band English Jones are singer/songwriter Stewart Jones, lead guitarist and vocals Andy Davis and bass guitar and vocals Muriel Halpin. EJ perform upbeat originals and a few classic covers.  Their blend of acoustic pop and warm vocal harmonies find favour with gig goers and venues alike. The band are inspired by the harmonies and song writing from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s by the likes of Deacon Blue, Crowded House, The Pretenders and The Beatles.   2023 – 2024 Saw the band playing at venues and festivals around the country like Melton Mowbray Folk, Warwick Beer and Cider Festival, Malvern Rocks and venues such as The Swan Theatre (Culture Café sessions) – Worcester, The Pheasant – Worcester, Encore – Lichfield, Café No18 – Tamworth, and The Three Tuns – Sutton Coldfield amongst others.   During the pandemic English Jones recorded their separate performances under strict lockdown, that were then compiled into a virtual performance for the Lady Bay Festival streamed online from Nottingham. In 2021 EJ performed their first live performance after the lockdown, recorded live for the Rugeley Fringe festival at the Rose theatre in May and the band also performed several showcases at Music Café in Stratford upon Avon.   Before the lockdown English Jones were regulars at the Stratford Alehouse and could be found playing festivals around the country including Melton Mowbray Folk Festival and supporting Inspiral Carpet’s Tom Hingley at the Ladybay Festival in Nottingham.  When on tour with The Great British Food Festival the band entertained summer festival goers at some of the grandest venues in the country, including Hardwick Hall, Weston Park and Knebworth House   In the summer of 2019, the band released their latest CD Home Comforts and songs like The One and Love is the only way from the CD have been played on Dean Radio in Gloucestershire and Big City Radio in Birmingham
