My name’s James I’m a Singer Songwriter and have been playing about 4yrs after a very long break to raise a family, and now I’m building towards my first album which keeps me motivated. I play a mix of covers I like the sound of and original material. Recently I worked with Terry Walls and recorded my first song ‘Slow Burner’ which was played on radio BGFM and sent to BBC radio who emailed me to say they’d listened to it, which was quite exciting. I have an eclectic mix of influences and coming from Liverpool obviously includes the Beatles, but also Dylan, The Stones, Goo Goo Dolls, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Ralph McTell, Simon & Garfunkel, Coldplay, Oasis and many others. I like songs that tell a story and are melodic and I hope that comes out in my music, and I’m always listening out for inspiration, that seed of an idea whether it be a phrase somebody uses, or a chord sequence or melody. I like something that ‘hooks’ me in and stays in my ear. I performed my first open mic at The Fold and my first Festival at Ledbury in 2024, and now regulary play open mics at various venues in Worcester and Malvern and have made some great friends here.
